Treat time just got an upgrade! These chickpea dog treats aren’t just tasty, they’re made with real, wholesome ingredients that you can feel good about.

They’re both grain-free and gluten-free! If your dog has food sensitivities or you just want to avoid grains, these treats are the perfect solution. Chickpea flour is a great alternative that’s packed with protein and fiber.

They’re quick and easy to make. Just mix, mold, and bake. No complicated steps or fancy equipment required.

They’re made with simple pantry ingredients. There are no fillers and mystery ingredients like what’s in store-bought ones.

They’re great for dogs of all sizes. Use silicone molds to customize the shape and size of the treats to match your dog’s needs.

Ingredients

You only need four simple ingredients to make these wholesome dog treats. Everything is easy to find at a regular grocery store.

  • Chickpea flour – A gluten-free, grain-free flour that’s packed with nutrients.
  • Pumpkin puree – Adds moisture, fiber, and natural sweetness.
  • Peanut butter – Gives these treats a delicious nutty flavor that dogs go crazy for.
  • Egg – Helps bind everything together while adding a boost of protein.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

You can easily customize these treats to suit your pup’s preferences or dietary needs. Here are a few tips:

  • Avoid peanut butter that contains xylitol, an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs. Always check the label.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or sunflower seed butter. Just make sure they don’t have xylitol either.
  • Don’t use pumpkin pie mix. It often contains sugar and spices that aren’t safe for dogs.
  • Want to mix things up? You can swap out half of the pumpkin puree with unsweetened applesauce for a hint of fruity sweetness.
  • No pumpkin on hand? Mashed butternut squash or sweet potato will work just fine!

Equipment Needed

You probably have all the kitchen items to make the treats. You can use any silicone mold but dog paw and dog bone molds make the treats extra cute.
