About Renee Dobbs
Hey there! I’m Renee, the creator and dog-obsessed human behind Spoiled Hounds.
Dogs and food have been two of my lifelong passions. I’ve had dogs for as long as I can remember and they’ve brought endless love and joy into my life. And cooking? That started early too. I learned to cook as a kid, making dinner for the family and whipping up desserts.
I spent over a decade working in the food industry and ran a food blog for five years. But everything changed when I lost three of my dogs in the same year; one to subcutaneous lymphoma, one to an auto-immune disease, and another to heart disease. It was heartbreaking. That painful chapter sparked something deep inside me: a mission to learn everything I could about nutrition for dogs.
And that’s how Spoiled Hounds came to be.
Through endless research and lots of time in the kitchen, I started creating homemade treats and meals that were both nutritious and dog-approved. My dogs don’t know how good the food is for them, they just know it’s delicious. But I know.
And I know other pet parents like you want the same for your pups. That’s why I’m here, to share what I’ve learned and help you spoil your hound with love, care, and good food.
My loyal assistants, well, supervisors are Milo, Luke, and Callie. They’re whippets who specialize in lounging, zooming around the yard, playing with toys, and going on walkies. They take their job very seriously.
So grab a recipe (or a few!), read up on what’s safe for your dog to eat, and join me in making life a little more delicious for your pup.
