Why You and Your Dog Will Love These Peachy Treats
Does your pup get pretty hot during their walks? Or maybe they love pup cups or frosty paws but you want to make something healthier. You just found that exact recipe!
These peach treats are easy to make. The base recipe has just three simple ingredients – peaches, Greek yogurt, and water. From there, you can add any other ingredients as mix-ins.
Which is the other reason you’ll love this recipe. It’s easy to customize by adding different fruit and spices to it.
Benefits of Peaches for Dogs
In moderate amounts, peaches are super nutritious for dogs. They’re packed with vitamin C. But did you know that they also lower risk factors for heart disease? That’s because they bind to bile acids and help lower cholesterol.
They’re also fantastic for your dog’s skin. If your pup has dry skin, giving them peach treats might help their skin retain moisture.
Ingredients
You’ll need the following to make all four flavor variations: The printable recipe card below provides details and exact measurements.
For the base:
- Fresh Peach – The star of the treats!
- Plain Greek Yogurt – Adds protein and probiotics. It also makes them creamy.
- Water – To thin down the base a little.
Add-ins for other flavors:
- Blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple.
- Cinnamon and ginger.
Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
You can use frozen peach slices instead of a fresh peach. Thaw them before using them for the recipe. Note that 1 peach yields a little less than 1 cup.
Be sure to use plain yogurt without added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
You can use any dog-safe fruit for the add-ins. Likewise with dog-safe spices and herbs.
Equipment Needed
I’m sure you have all the kitchen items needed for mixing the base. You can use ice cube trays for freezing them but bone-shaped silicone molds make them super cute.

These are the recipe steps and some photos of making the treats. I hope they help you make them for your dog.
- Peel and cut up the peach – half into chunks and the other half into into small pieces.
- Cut the pineapple and strawberries into small pieces.
- Put the peach chunks, yogurt, and water into a blender or food processor.
- Blend until it’s smooth.
- Add cinnamon or ginger and blend again. I did half with cinnamon and the other with ginger.
- Put the silicone molds on a cookie sheet for stability. It makes it easy to transfer them to and from the freezer.
- Sprinkle the fruit pieces into the molds.
- Spoon or pour in the peach mixture.
- Put the molds in the freezer and freeze them until frozen solid, about 3 hours.
- Remove the treats from the molds.
Just look at the flavors – just peach or a combo with pineapple, strawberry, or blueberry. They’re pretty and tasty too!
Serving Size
How many of these treats should you give your canine companion? That depends on the amount of food you gave your pet to eat that day and the size of your dog. Large dogs can consume more than smaller dogs.
It also depends on the size of the treat which can vary depending on the molds you use to make them. The nutrition information below is for 1 treat with just peach in a batch of 48 treats.
Make sure you don’t exceed the recommended amount for your dog. That amount changes for each dog breed, size, and activity level. You can use your judgment or consult with your veterinarian regarding how many treats are right for your dog.
Also, keep in mind when adding new foods to your dog’s diet to start with small amounts to ensure your dog has no allergic or adverse reactions.
How to Store Them and How Long They Last
Store the treats in a plastic freezer bag or freezer-safe airtight container in the freezer. They will last up to 3 months.
Can people eat these treats?
Yes, absolutely. All of the ingredients are safe for human consumption. They are yummy frozen treats for both dogs and people.
