Why You’ll Love This Recipe

There’s something so satisfying about making your own dog treats, especially when your dog happily gobbles them up and wags for more. These frozen berry bites are sure to become a favorite. Here’s why:

Wholesome Ingredients – These little frozen gems are made with real berries and plain Greek yogurt. No mystery ingredients, no weird preservatives, just simple, good stuff.

Easy to Make – If you can blend, stir, and pour, you can make these! They come together quickly and are easy to stash in the freezer for grab-and-go snacks.

Customizable – You can mix and match the fruits to suit your dog’s preferences or dietary needs. Don’t have raspberries? Use blackberries instead. Avoiding dairy? Use coconut milk.

Perfect for Summer – Cool, fruity, and refreshing – these are the ultimate doggie chill treat. They’re a berry-licious way to help your furry friend beat the heat.

Red, White, and Blue Vibes – The combination of berries and yogurt gives these treats a vibrant, patriotic look that’s great for July 4th parties, dog birthday bashes, or just because they’re adorable.

Ingredients and What They Bring to the Treats

Here’s a quick look at what goes into these cool treats and why each one is a great choice for your pup:

  • Raspberries – Naturally sweet and packed with antioxidants, potassium, and fiber.
  • Strawberries – Juicy, fruity flavor that dogs love and are full of vitamin C.
  • Blueberries – A superfruit with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
  • Plain Greek Yogurt – Creamy with protein and probiotics.
  • Water – Helps thin out the puree and makes the treats easier to blend and pour.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions

When making these frozen berry dog treats, here are a few helpful tips and swaps to keep in mind:

  • Low fat plain yogurt is the best option, since high-fat foods can lead to issues like pancreatitis in dogs.
  • To make the treats dairy-free, use lite coconut milk instead of yogurt.
  • Want to switch up the flavors? Try other dog-safe fruits. Check out this list for more ideas: Fruits Dogs Can Eat
  • Add a tablespoon of ground chia seeds or flaxseed to the mix for a fiber and omega-3 boost.

Equipment Needed

You don’t need much to whip these up, but a couple of tools will make things easier (and cuter). One is a blender to puree the raspberries. The other is silicone molds or ice cube trays for shaping and freezing.

  • These paw and bone silicone molds are adorable and perfect for everyday treats.
  • These star-shaped molds are great for patriotic celebrations.

Making these treats is simple and fun. Here’s what to do:

  1. Blend the raspberries with water until smooth.
  2. Mix the yogurt with water in a small bowl.
  3. Chop the strawberries into small pieces.

How to Store the Treats and How Long They Last

Once frozen, remove the treats from the molds and place them in a plastic freezer bag or freezer-safe container. Store them in the freezer where they’ll stay good for up to 3 months. Just grab one when your pup needs a cool snack!

Can people eat these treats?

Yes, absolutely! All the ingredients are safe for humans. If you enjoy fruity frozen yogurt popsicles, you’ll probably love these too. They’re simple, refreshing, and just sweet enough.
