You’ll be proud to add this beautiful jar to any gift exchange that you go to! Or give it to a pet parent that you know really well. Inside, this mix will make homemade dog treats, which is something a lot of dog owners enjoy making.

This is a great way to give something thoughtful without having to go through all the effort of mixing and baking. Plus, you’re helping another dog owner make their own dog treats for their furry friend.

If you know someone who enjoys making dog biscuits – or maybe they want to but never found a recipe they like – then this dog biscuit mix is the perfect gift!

What Makes Dog Treat Mix the Perfect Gift for Pet Parents

This is the perfect gift because it takes all the shopping, research, and guesswork out of baking homemade treats. You’re giving them all the dry ingredients and the recipe. Now, all they have to do is add the wet ingredients and bake!

Plus, you can decorate it so that it’s customized for the person you’re giving it to. Add a photo of their pup or use their favorite colors. It’s always the perfect gift.

Ingredients

The dry mix recipe has only 4 simple ingredients. See below for what you need to make the treats.

  • Oat Flour
  • Brown Rice Flour
  • Carob Powder
  • Unsweetened Carob Chips

You can make oat flour and rice flour – just grind uncooked oats and rice (separately) in a blender or food processor until it has a flour consistency.

You’ll also need a glass jar with a capacity of at least 3 cups. A quart mason jar holds 4 cups.

For the treats:

  • Large Egg
  • Unsweetened Applesauce
  • Plain Pumpkin Puree
  • Natural Unsweetened Peanut Butter

Do not use pumpkin pie mix because it may contain spices that are toxic to dogs.

It’s so simple to make the mix! Here’s what to do:

  1. Measure out the ingredients.
  2. Use a funnel to pour each ingredient into a mason jar and use a long spoon or gently tap the jar on the counter to level out each layer.
