Meet Pesky and Pepper. Pesky is a Chihuahua and Pepper is a Miniature Pinscher (aka Minpin). I’m excited to feature them because they are my dog niece and nephew. I was delighted when my sister-in-law adopted Pesky. He was her first dog and I knew he would change her life and bring a bunch of love and happiness into it. Sure enough, he did. Then she adopted Pepper and the fun times multiplied tenfold. The biggest smiles I’ve ever seen on my sister-in-law and brother-in-law’s faces is when they talk about Pesky and Pepper.
Check out these fun facts about them as told by their human mom, Joy.
Your Dog’s Names
Pesky and Pepper
Why did you get your dogs?
My only son grew up and moved out. I guess I had empty nest syndrome so we got Pesky first. We got Pepper about 6 months later so Pesky would have a playmate.

How did you decide on your dog’s names?
He was being pesky by nipping and jumping on us wanting to play. So we named him Pesky. For Pepper, we couldn’t think of an original name. She is black and tan so we just named her Pepper.
What is your dog’s favorite toy?
Pesky – stuffed animal cat. Pepper – squeaky toys.
What is your dog’s favorite treat?
Both love chicken jerky.
How do you spoil your dogs?
Taking them for walks and rides in the truck. Taking them on vacation with us. They love the beach.
What’s a funny story about your dogs or how do your dogs make you laugh?
Pesky makes me laugh when he gets excited about going somewhere. Pepper makes me laugh when she scratches the floor until we give her a treat.
How do you have fun and play with your dogs?
We run in the yard and play tug of war with them.
Is there anything special or unique about your dogs? If so, what is it?
Just that they are awesome, loving, and part of our family.
What else would you like to share about your dogs?
Pesky is 12 years old and still plays like a puppy. He has brought me so much happiness. Pepper is also 12 years old. She has some health issues and is blind now. She is a real trooper though. She knows her way around the house and yard. I take her on walks with a leash and she does very well.
Many thanks to Joy for sharing the fun of your sweet dogs, Pesky and Pepper!
Update: Sadly, Pesky passed and crossed over the rainbow bridge.
