My Yeedi K650 Experience
I’ve often wondered about getting a robot vacuum. But I thought with all the hair my dogs shed that the little vacuum would go about 3 feet then stop with a full dust bin. Seriously, the dog hair struggle is real.
The other concern was with my fearful dog Milo. He’s afraid of almost everything and there is potential for freaking him out when it is running. It made me hesitant to spend money on a robot vac.
So, as luck would have it, the kind folks at Yeedi asked if I would like to try their robot vacuum in exchange for an honest review. Well, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up!
Real-life Yeedi K650 Usage
The Yeedi came in a nice package and was easy to assemble. There really isn’t much to assemble. Just snap on the side brushes and it’s pretty much ready to go.
Installing the mobile app and setting up the wi-fi connection was easy. I did not connect it with Alexa so I don’t know if that’s easy to do or not. (I do not have any Alexa devices).
Scheduling the first cleaning with the app was super easy. It started cleaning at the exact scheduled time.
Luke and Zephyr sniffed at it and checked it out. Luke barked at it for a few minutes. Milo went as far away from it that he could. But at least it wasn’t a big freak out situation for Milo. Whew!
The Yeedi easily went over rugs and transitioned from wood floor to carpet and tile. It had to make multiple attempts to transition from carpet to my marble hearth that is about an inch higher than the carpet.
Yeedi when under my coffee table and end tables with ease. But it got stuck under the back of my couch, my bedroom dresser, and china cabinet.
We put down magnetic strips in the areas it had stuck. Note we used magnetic strips we had and did not use the official Yeedi boundary strips. Yeedi did not detect the strips, ran over them, and sometimes pulled them around.
Not detecting magnetic boundary strips appears to be a common complaint on the Amazon reviews. Perhaps Yeedi will improve the detection in future models.
Side Note: I had inadvertently turned off the magnetic boundary detection in the app. Duh! But once I realized it and turned it on, Yeedi still did not detect the strips.
An alternative to magnetic strips is to install guards on your furniture. My husband came up with this brilliant idea. Here’s a photo of his handy work before we painted them to match the furniture:
Yeedi k650 does a random cleaning pattern when on the auto setting. It does not map the area and so it does not know where it has cleaned. Sometimes it vacuums the same room twice or doesn’t vacuum a room.
It goes in circles when set for spot cleaning and around the perimeter when set for edge cleaning.
Returning to the charger isn’t always successful. The battery runs out before it can make it to the charger. I’ve run the Yeedi almost every day for weeks and had to take it to the charger several times.
How Well Does the Yeedi K650 Robot Vacuum Clean?
Simply, the Yeedi K650 has done a great job cleaning my floors! The big dust bin is full of pet hair and dirt each time it runs.
Does it mean no more vacuuming? Nope. There are still places that it can’t get to. But you will only have to vacuum occasionally to get those spots.
Do I Recommend the Yeedi K650 Robot Vacuum?
Yes, I recommend the Yeedi to anyone who is looking for a robot vac, especially for pet owners. It runs quietly, does a great job cleaning up dirt and pet hair, and has a great price.
The tangle-free brush and big dust bin are great, especially if you have multiple pets. The convenience of the app and knowing the floors are getting cleaned are worth it.
For those with fearful or reactive dogs, it’s not an issue with my fearful dog Milo. He’s getting used to it and actually walks right by it when it is running.

I’ve put together this video to show my experience with the Yeedi and so you can watch it run. Enjoy!
