St. Patrick’s Day Dog Treats

Homemade green dog treats are great for St. Patrick’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped spinach frozen or fresh
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh curly parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup water or as much as needed

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a blender or food processor, blend the spinach and egg together.
  • Place the oat flour, parsley, mint, spirulina, coconut oil, and spinach-egg mixture in a large bowl. Using your hands or a spoon, combine until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Stir in a little water at a time, about 1-2 tablespoons, until it becomes a rollable dough.
  • Place the dough on parchment paper or a lightly floured surface. Roll dough out until approximately 1/4" to 1/3" according to your preference. Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into shapes. Place the cutouts on the prepared baking sheet. Re-roll and cut until the all the dough is used up.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes.
  • Transfer the treats to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
