Blueberry Pumpkin Dog Donuts

Ingredients

Blueberry Pumpkin Donuts

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon brewer's yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries

Blueberry Frosting

  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup brown rice flour

Instructions

Blueberry Pumpkin Donuts

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 2 donut pans.
  • Place all ingredients for the donuts except the blueberries in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
  • Add blueberries and gently stir to combine.
  • Spoon batter into prepared donut pan.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 5 minutes in pan then remove and place on wire racks to cool completely.

Blueberry Frosting

  • Place all the frosting ingredients in a food processor and process until combined, scraping the side of the processor bowl if needed to make sure the flour is mix in well.
  • Spread or pipe the frosting on the cooled donuts.

Notes

Do not use pumpkin pie mix because it may contain spices toxic to dogs.
