Beet Dog Treats

These homemade beet dog treats are easy to make and naturally vibrant without any food coloring. Made with fresh beetroot, oat flour, egg, and coconut oil, they’re a wholesome way to treat your pup for Valentine’s Day or any time of year.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Fresh Beets
  • Water
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 ½ cups Oat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¾ teaspoon Melted Coconut Oil

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Peel and cube the beets. Place them in a pot and cover them with water. Boil until tender.
  • Drain the water and place the boiled beets in a food processor or blender. Process until fully pureed and smooth.
  • Pour the beet puree into a bowl. Place 1½ cups of the puree back in the food processor or blender. Discard or use the remaining puree in other recipes.
  • Add the egg and coconut oil to the puree and blend until well combined.
  • In a medium bowl combine oat flour and baking soda. Add the beet mixture to the flour mixture and combine well.
  • Spoon and press the dough into silicone baking molds of your preferred shape.
  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
  • Remove the baked treats from the oven and place the molds on a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Remove the treats from the molds and store them in an airtight container.
