Salmon Dog Food

Homemade salmon and rice dog food is a tail-wagging delight.

Ingredients

  • 2 6-ounce salmon fillets with the skin (total 12 ounces)
  • 1 medium sweet potato
  • 3/4 cup brown rice
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup green peas frozen or canned

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Cook the rice with water according to package instructions.
  • While the rice is cooking, place the salmon, skin side down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Peel and cut the sweet potato into small cubes (dice). Place the diced sweet potatoes on the baking sheet around the salmon in a single layer. Bake for 25 minutes until the salmon is flakes easily with a fork.
  • Rinse and drain the green peas and set aside.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven and flake the filets with a fork. Cut the skin into bite size pieces.
  • Place all ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine. Allow to cool completely before serving.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
