Pumpkin Seeds for Dogs

You can easily make homemade pumpkin seed powder for dogs with fresh pumpkin seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pumpkin Seeds from 1 Sugar baby or Pie Pumpkin

Instructions

  • Cut the pumpkin down the center, stem to bottom. Remove seeds.
  • Rinse the seeds in a colander and remove strings.
  • Spread the seeds out in a single layer on paper towels. Lay paper towels on top to dry them completely.

Oven

  • Preheat oven to 320°F.
  • Place the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper or silicone sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Air Fryer

  • Place the seeds in a single layer on air fryer tray or in basket.
  • Air fry at 320°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the seeds to cool completely to room temperature.
  • Place the seeds in a food processor, high-powered blender, or coffee grinder.
  • Grind until a powder forms.
  • Place the powder in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. It will last up to 3 months.

Notes

This recipe makes about 1 cup of pumpkin seed powder (48 teaspoons).
