Mug Cake for Dogs

A microwave mug cake is a quick, easy, and tasty dessert treat for your furry friend.

Ingredients

Cake

  • 3 tablespoons oat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 3 tablespoons water

Frosting

  • 3 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 small crunchy dog treat optional for decorating

Instructions

Cake

  • Place the oat flour and baking powder in a small bowl. Whisk or stir to combine.
  • Place the peanut butter and pumpkin puree in a separate small bowl. Stir until well combined.
  • Add the water and flour mixture to the wet ingredient mixture and stir until combined.
  • Grease a microwaveable coffee mug and spoon the batter into the mug. Microwave on high for 4 minutes. Allow to cool completely.

Frosting

  • Place the Greek yogurt and peanut butter in a small bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Remove the cake from the mug and spread the frosting on top.
  • If desired, decorate with a dog treat, either whole or broken into pieces.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Do not use peanut butter or Greek yogurt that contains xylitol, an artificial sweetener toxic to dogs.
Do not use pumpkin pie mix because it may contain spices that are toxic to dogs.
