Fruit Leather Dog Treats

Homemade fruit leather dog treats made with real fruit and no added sugar. They're simple, chewy, and perfect for pups.

Ingredients

Strawberry - Apple

  • 1 cup Strawberries
  • ½ cup Applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons Flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon Liver Sprinkles

Blueberry - Sweet Potato

  • 1 cup Blueberries
  • ½ cup Cooked Sweet Potato
  • 2 teaspoons Flaxseed
  • ½ teaspoon Liver Sprinkles

Instructions

Oven Method

  • Preheat oven to 170°F. Place parchment paper over a baking sheet.
  • Blend fruit and flax seeds together in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture onto the baking sheet.
  • Use a spoon or spatula to make a thin layer, about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Lightly sprinkle liver sprinkles over the fruit mixture.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 6 to 7 hours until the mixture is dry, but not crunchy. It needs to be pliable.
  • Remove the dried fruit mixture from the oven and cool it completely.
  • Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut into strips and roll up the strips.

Dehydrator Method

  • Place parchment paper over a dehydrator tray.
  • Blend fruit and flax seeds together in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture onto the tray.
  • Use a spoon or spatula to make a thin layer, about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Lightly sprinkle liver sprinkles over the fruit mixture.
  • Dehydrate at 145°F for 6 to 8 hours until the mixture is dry, but not crunchy. It needs to be pliable.
  • Remove the dried fruit mixture from the dehydrator and cool it completely.
  • Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut it into strips and roll up the strips.

Notes

Store fruit leather in an airtight container at room temperature.
