  • 1 Egg
  • ½ cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • Water if needed

Dog Donut Icing

  • ½ cup Greek Yogurt
  • ½ cup Natural Peanut Butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the rice flour with the baking soda.
  • Mash the banana.
  • Peel and finely chop the apple.
  • Melt the coconut oil.
  • In another bowl, mix together the egg, applesauce, mashed banana, coconut oil and chopped apple.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  • If the dough seems a little dry or if all of the dry ingredients don’t get incorporated, add a small amount of water to the batter and continue mixing.
  • Place the dough into silicone or greased metal donut trays.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Transfer the dog donuts to a wire rack to cool once baked.

Dog Donut Icing

  • Combine the Greek yogurt with the peanut butter.
  • Spread the icing on the top of the donuts.
  • Or just ice the donuts with peanut butter or Greek yogurt.
  • You can crumble a donut or other crunchy dog treats and use it as a topping.

Notes

You can purchase brown rice flour or make your own by adding 2 cups of uncooked brown rice to a blender or food processor and blend until the consistency of flour.
Store the donuts in the refrigerator.
Do not use peanut butter that contains xylitol, a sweetener toxic to dogs.
