Ingredients
Dog Donut Dough
2cupsBrown Rice Flour
½teaspoonBaking Soda
1Bananamashed
1mediumApplefinely chopped
2tablespoonsCoconut Oilmelted
1Egg
½cupUnsweetened Applesauce
Waterif needed
Dog Donut Icing
½cupGreek Yogurt
½cupNatural Peanut Butter
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, combine the rice flour with the baking soda.
Mash the banana.
Peel and finely chop the apple.
Melt the coconut oil.
In another bowl, mix together the egg, applesauce, mashed banana, coconut oil and chopped apple.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well.
If the dough seems a little dry or if all of the dry ingredients don’t get incorporated, add a small amount of water to the batter and continue mixing.
Place the dough into silicone or greased metal donut trays.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Transfer the dog donuts to a wire rack to cool once baked.
Dog Donut Icing
Combine the Greek yogurt with the peanut butter.
Spread the icing on the top of the donuts.
Or just ice the donuts with peanut butter or Greek yogurt.
You can crumble a donut or other crunchy dog treats and use it as a topping.
Notes
You can purchase brown rice flour or make your own by adding 2 cups of uncooked brown rice to a blender or food processor and blend until the consistency of flour.Store the donuts in the refrigerator.Do not use peanut butter that contains xylitol, a sweetener toxic to dogs.
