Ingredients

  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Celery stalk
  • 2-3 stems Fresh Curly Parsley (do not use flat leaf parsley)
  • 3-4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs or 1 pound of your choice of chicken cuts
  • Water enough to cover

Instructions

  • Chop celery, carrot, and parsley into small pieces.
  • Place raw chicken and vegetables in a pot and add enough water to cover them by 1 inch.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat to medium-low and cook until the chicken is done, about 30 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the pot and shred or cut it into small pieces.
  • If desired, you can remove the vegetables and puree them in a blender with some of the broth then pour the puree mixture back into the pot.
  • Return the chicken to the pot with the vegetables.
  • Allow the soup to cool until it is slightly warm or at room temperature before serving it to your dog.

Notes

Do not give hot soup to your dog and risk burning your dog’s mouth or tongue.
Store the soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freeze the soup for up to 3 months. Thaw it in the fridge overnight.
