¼CupCreamy Peanut Butternatural unsweetened
1Egg
1TablespoonCoconut Oilmelted
2CupsOat Flour
Instructions
Dough
Place the applesauce, peanut butter, egg, and coconut oil in a bowl.
Combine the wet ingredients with a mixer or by hand.
Add the oat flour and combine well. The dough will be sticky.
Method 1 - Molds
Press the dough into silicone molds.
Place the molds on a baking sheet.
Method 2 - Cutouts
Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
Roll the dough out onto a flat surface until about 1/3-inch thick.
Using your favorite cookie cutter, cut out as many shapes as possible. If the dough is still too sticky to roll, add a little more oat flour.
Gather the scraps, re-roll, and cut until all the dough is used up.
Place the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
Heat the oven to 350°F.
Bake the biscuits for 20 to 25 minutes.
Transfer the baked biscuits to a wire rack. Cool to room temperature.
Notes
Do not use peanut butter that contains xylitol, a sweetener toxic to dogs. You can make oat flour by putting uncooked old-fashioned oats in a blender or food processor and blending until it reaches flour consistency. The number of biscuits can vary depending on the size of your cookie cutter or mold. I used a 4-inch dog bone cookie cutter which yielded 8 dog biscuits.
